Seeking Peace? Seek Joy Instead!

Author: Julia Rogers Hamrick

Human beings tend to believe that once peace is achieved, we will experience joy. And it is certainly true that joy and peace go together. But achieving peace prior to achieving joy is not the natural sequence of events. Joy comes first! Peace is a natural byproduct of joy.

How many times have you felt like starting up a fight when you were deeply, completely blissful? How many times have you heard of someone beating his wife when he was authentically joyful? How many wars are started because everyone is ecstatic? It doesnt happen! Those who are joyful have no interest in being destructive or disruptivedestruction and disruption are of a frequency completely incompatible with joy. In fact, they belong to disparate reality states.

You see, turmoil, or lack of peace, is a function of dwelling in the duality matrix, the realm of good and evil, right and wrong, light and dark, up and down, and all manner of polarities, or forces in conflict. Turmoil is a byproduct of judgment, and judgment is the tool that human egos use to keep us operating in duality. Joy, however, is a beacon calling us to transcend ego by eschewing judgment and leaving the duality matrix behind and returning to Oneness, the reality matrix in which we were designed to thrive.

In Oneness, there is no turmoil or conflictits impossible to have conflict when theres only one force! Joy is your emotional response to being at higher frequency, in the realm of Oneness and wholeness, the vibrational home base for humanity. When you are experiencing joy, you are in the realm of no conflict. Peace is a result of being in the realm of no conflict. Joy lights the way to peace.

Another way of knowing that peace is not the path to joy, but vice versa, is that peace is not really all that much of a carrot. Surewe say we long for peace, but how juicy is the thought of peace, really? Be honest with yourselfunless you are in a war-torn country and your life feels perpetually threatened, the desire for peace is far less an incentive for you than the desire for joy. While we have been taught that it is righteous to say we want world peace, what we really long for is the heart-leaping-up, Light-filled state of joy.

And there is nothing ignoble about that. Its natural! Its a part of your design to seek joy. Joy is the incentive that the Creator installed within us so that we would always long for and seek Home, the higher frequencies at which we were designed to thrive. Joy is not just the destination, its the path. When you seek joy on purpose, and make being joyful your intention in life, you will find not only find that your joy quotient increases, your life will be less and less tumultuous as you spend more of your experience above the duality matrix. In other words, as your joy increases, so does your experience of peace.

The pursuit of joy is the most magnanimous gift you can give the planet! Not only will you spread joy in your own daily interactions, you will raise the joy quotient of all of humanity. Only when enough individuals are experiencing true joy on a consistent basis will a critical mass be reached so that operating at the frequency of joy is not only possible for all, it will be the dominant reality. When enough of us are operating at the frequency of joy, in the realm of Oneness, above the frequency where turmoil manifests, a tipping point will be reached, and joy will prevail. Then, and only then, will the world be at peace. World peace, indeed, depends on your joy.
